The SwinSIDc serves as a replacement for the SID chip MOS6581 or MOS8580 in the Commodore 64 and is the nano Version of the C64 SwinSID.
The SwinSIDc serves as a replacement for the SID chip MOS6581 or MOS8580 in the Commodore 64. It is inserted in the socket provided instead of the SID. SwinSID emulates the SID chip in software on an AVR 8-bit microcontroller from Atmel. The analog audio signal is either generated via an additional digital / analog converter chip (3 SID Voices) and / or output directly at a pin of the microcontroller using pulse width modulation (digit).
